New US Travel Restrictions Reveal Inhumane Nature of US Policy

 

Havana, June 9 (ACN) The new US travel full and partial restrictions imposed as of Monday on citizens of 19 countries reveal the barbarian and inhumane nature of US policy, said Cuban political analyst Luis Rene Fernandez, from the Havana-based Center for International Economy Research Studies.

The measures, contained in a proclamation signed by US President Donald Trump, bans entry into US territory to citizens of 12 African and Middle East nations under the pretext to prevent the arrival of “terrorist aliens.” The move partially restricts entry into the US to citizens of another 7 nations including Cuba.

The alleged arrival in the US of terrorist aliens is a false statement because it is one of the usual manipulations used by US presidents, said the Cuban expert.

The new measure could have a severe family, personal and human impact, and could also lead to a dramatic and criminal outcome because it could contribute to the death of people, including children who may require medical assistance only provided in US hospitals, said Fernandez, as cited by China’s Xinhua wire service.

The restriction affect those who wish to visit their relatives, parents, children in the US, as they also violate human rights and freedoms of the citizens in the designated countries, said the expert who is also professor at the University of Havana.

Other areas affected include cultural, academic and scientific exchange between US and specialists from other nations, while the United States will lose an important labor in the sectors of construction, agriculture and services usually taking foreign labor.
