IAEA publishes profile of Cuban professional

 

HAVANA, Cuba, May 27 (ACN) The International Atomic Energy Agency, based in Vienna, has just published on its website in English, in the section Women at the IAEA, the profile of Cuban Luisa Aniuska Betancourt Hernandez.

The Agency of Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies of Cuba (AENTA), highlighted Betancourt Hernandez as a Nuclear Engineer, graduated in 1985 from the University of Havana.

A summary of her scientific career indicates that in 2002 she was appointed director of the National Center for Nuclear Safety, at that time Cuba's nuclear regulatory body, and in 2014 she assumed the presidency of AENTA.

Since 2019, she has been working on the Regulatory Infrastructure Development Project with a focus on nuclear safety, of that United Nations agency.

The Network of Nuclear Communicators of Cuba (RECNUC), welcomed the publication and acknowledged her support for its creation in 2016 when she occupied the position of president of AENTA.
