Díaz-Canel Continues Official Visit Program in Russia

HAVANA, Cuba, May 8 (ACN) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel continued his working agenda in Moscow today as part of his official visit to Russia, which coincides with the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism.

After two days of work in St. Petersburg, he arrived in Moscow on Tuesday and met with staff from the Cuban state mission in Russia.

According to the Cuban Presidency, the dignitary described his official visit to the Russian Federation as highly significant.

In discussions with Cuban representatives, the president also addressed the country’s complex situation, exacerbated by the hostility of the U.S. government, as well as strategies to overcome these challenges through collective efforts.

For their part, Cuba’s representatives in Russia reaffirmed their commitment to implementing agreements signed with the Eurasian nation, particularly in economic, trade, and high-skilled human resource training sectors.

Díaz-Canel arrived in Russia on Sunday leading a delegation that also includes Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; Emilio Lozada García, member of the PCC Central Committee and head of its International Relations Department; and Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga.

In Moscow, the Cuban delegation will attend, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the May 9 parade marking the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany.
