Havana, May 6 (ACN) European lawmakers from Belgium, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal extended their support to Cuba amidst the aggressive US policy and its over 60-year economic blockade against the island.
The members of the leftist group at the European Parliament put forth their stance of support of Cuba with a group of actions at the venue of the European legislative body in the French city of Strasbourg.
The forum also expressed their support of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and Cuba, signed in 2016 and currently target of some European sectors who try to derail it, PL news wire reported from Strasbourg.
The parliamentarians, who exchanged views with Cuban diplomats headed by ambassador to Paris Otto Vaillant, included Leila Chaibi, Anthony Smith and Arash Saeidi from “La France insoumise”; Carolina Morace and Danilo Della Valle, from Italy’s 5 Stelle Movement; Estrella Galan from Spain’s Sumar organization; Joao Oliveira from Portugal’s Communist Party and Rudi Kennes, independent from Belgium.
