Cuba rejects US threats against Iran

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 31 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, rejected today the threats of the United States about a possible bombing against Iran.

The head of Cuban diplomacy assured that these statements by the US government endanger international peace, stability and security.

Donald Trump, US president, threatened on Sunday, March 30, with bombings and secondary tariffs if Teheran, the Iranian capital, does not reach an agreement with Washington on its nuclear program.

Trump makes these statements after Iran rejected direct negotiations last week.

During his first term, Trump withdrew the US from a 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, a pact that imposed strict limitations on Tehran's nuclear development program in exchange for sanctions relief.

For his part, Masud Pezeshkian, Iran's president, reiterated just yesterday, Sunday, that his country is open to indirect negotiation with the US and said it is the behavior of the United States that determines the continuation of the path of talks.
