HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 18 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, lamented today the damage caused in the United States by a series of tornadoes that this weekend hit several central and southern states of the country.
On X, the Cuban diplomat expressed his condolences to the US people for the victims and damages caused by this phenomenon, associated to storms that also provoked forest fires.
According to the local press, the storms left at least 42 people dead and dozens injured, in addition to the material damage to houses and commercial establishments, which were totally destroyed.
Preliminary counts show that there were 46 tornadoes on Friday and 41 on Saturday, as well as more than 130 wildfires fanned by the wind.
