Cuban foreign minister starts official visit to Malaysia



HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 13 (ACN) In a post on X, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, met with the Honorable Wong Chen, Chairman of the Special Select Committee on Foreign Relations and International Trade, as part of his official visit to Malaysia, the first of an Asian tour that will also include Singapore, Vietnam and Laos.

"We agreed on the historic ties of friendship between our two countries”, Rodriguez Parrilla wrote in his message.

He also met with his Malaysian counterpart, Dato Seri Mohamad bin Hasan, to whom he stressed Cuba’s full willingness to strengthen the political, economic and cooperation relations for the benefit of both nations.

The two officials presided over the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the news agencies Prensa Latina and Bernama and the Exchange of Notes for cooperation between the Cuban Institute of International Relations and the Malaysian Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations.
Cuba and Malaysia established diplomatic relations on February 6, 1975.
