HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 29 (ACN) In a post on X, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla saluted the 11th anniversary of the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, signed by the heads of state and of government of the member countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), gathered in Havana for the II Summit of the bloc.
Rodríguez Parrilla reiterated in his message Cuba's commitment to comply with the provisions of the Proclamation agreed on January 29, 2014, and to forever banish the use of threats and force from the region.
On the said date, the 33 CELAC member states also undertook to respect every nation’s inalienable right to choose its political, economic, social and cultural system as an essential condition to ensure peaceful coexistence among countries.
