Regional Solidarity Network repudiates Cuba's reinsertion into spurious list

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 22 (ACN) The Continental Latin American and Caribbean Network of Solidarity with Cuba and Just Causes condemned in a statement U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to reinstate Cuba’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism.

"It is a typical act of the shameless government that he presides over. In total alienation, Trump lashes out at Cuba and the region," the text remarks. “The U.S. president set up a cabinet of demented perverts who put peace in the continent at risk. (…) It is not with arrogance, violence, colonizing annexation and market fundamentalism that the systemic evils caused by global capitalism in its unipolar version can be solved”.

The statement also urges the American people to join the demand that Trump should end his hostile policies on Cuba and other countries of Our America and respect the self-determination of the peoples.

As a hub of actions taken by organizations, groups and solidarity movements in the region, the Network called for a World Marathon of Love for Cuba to be observed until December 30, 2025, the date of the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).
