Havana, Jan 15 (ACN) Cuban deputy foreign minister Gerardo Peñalver ratified the good state of bilateral relations with France during a working visit to that European nation.
Peñalver met in Paris with the general secretary of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Anne-Marie Descôtes. The two officials described bilateral relations between their countries as positive, and they agreed to keep expanding those links.
The Cuban deputy minister thanked France for its traditional support of Cuba’s claim for the lifting of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade.
The Cuban government official also stressed the support of France to the advance of European Union-Cuba relations within the frame of the Political Dialog and Cooperation Accord between the parties.
As part of his working agenda, Peñalver also met with Xing Qu, deputy director- general of the United Nations for Science, Education and Culture Organization in Paris.
Xing and Penalver agreed to the excellent relations between the UN agency and Cuba and expressed their willingness to keep strengthening such bonds.
