HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 7 (ACN) Gerardo Peñalver Portal, Cuban first deputy foreign minister, co-chaired today in Qatar the 3rd Round of Political Consultations, as part of a broad work agenda he is carrying out in that Middle Eastern nation.
The meeting was also chaired by Sultan Bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, a few days after the 35th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations.
On X, Peñalver informed that the meeting highlighted the excellent state of ties between the two nations, as well as the will to continue strengthening bonds in fields of common interest.
They also discussed the international political situation and the Cuban side expressed its gratitude for Qatar's favorable vote on the resolution against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade.
As part of his visit, the first deputy minister also held a meeting with the local Minister of Public Health, Mansoor bin Ebrahim bin Saad Al-Mahmoud.
During the day, the Cuban diplomat met with a representation of health collaborators, who work at the Cuban Hospital of Dukhan and the Aisha Hospital.
According to the same social network, in the exchange he recognized the work of these professionals, which has earned them the gratitude of the patients and the Qatari authorities.
