HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 1 (ACN) "It is a pleasure to receive you at the Palace of the Revolution," Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez remarked to Commissioner General Wang Xiaohong, State Councilor and Minister of Public Security of China, who is visiting the island.
“Whenever we meet with our Chinese friends”, the Cuban leader said, “we assure them that their visits confirm the excellent state of our bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, economic-commercial and social fields, which has much to do with the historic relations of friendship between our peoples, governments and parties, resulting from the fraternal bonds established between Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the Chinese leader Mao Tse Tung, and maintained throughout these years by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and the Chinese leaders".
Díaz-Canel also highlighted the agreements stemmed from meetings held with the Secretary-General of the Communist Party and President of the People’s Republic, Xi Jinping, to whom he referred as a friend and sent his best wishes, and assured his guest that Cuba keeps up with China’s appeal to the international community to engage in global initiatives for the benefit of world peace, multilateralism, equality among nations and peoples, and complementarity and against hegemonism and unilateral policies of sanctions and coercion.
“Your visit,” the Cuban leader assured to his guest, “is another expression of opposition to policies of cultural colonization and subversion used by the U.S. against our nations”. (…) We thank you for your support to a systematic and stable cooperation between the Cuban and Chinese Ministries of Public Security to address issues of common interest and cope with the challenges facing us, including the strengthening of cybersecurity".
