Havana, Nov 19 (ACN) US congress people urged US President Joe Biden to immediately ease current sanctions on Cuba and withdraw the island from the list of alleged states sponsors of terrorism.
Lawmakers Barbara Lee, Jim McGovern, Gregory Meeks and Joaquín Castro, all from the House of Representatives, signed a letter to Biden demanding a policy change towards Cuba, PL news reported.
According to the letter, published on the official website of lawmaker Lee, the legislators call for an immediate ease of sanctions imposed on the Cuban people, who are suffering from generalized blackouts and an increasing energy crisis, worsened by the recent passage of Hurricane Rafael.
The US lawmakers urged Biden to withdraw Cuba from the list of States Sponsors of Terrorism and to speed up humanitarian aid and technical assistance to the island.
