HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 13 (ACN) The damages caused by Hurricane Rafael in the province of Guantanamo led the National Cuba-Italy Friendship Association and Timbalaye, international promoter of Cuban culture, to help the recovery effort with a donation of 5,000 euros.
Ulises Ezequiel Mora Valiña, president of Timbalaye and honorary member of the Association, said to be proud of being the bearer of the solidarity message considering the ever-increasing difficulties that the 60-plus year-old U.S. blockade has caused for the Cuban people.
“However”, he remarked, “Cuba proves once again that only with unity of the peoples can any aggression be defeated, and no blockade or hurricane can break the will of the Cuban Revolution as long as there are Cubans around the world and sister nations willing to help. (…) Our support confirms our unconditional solidarity with the Cuban Revolution, its leaders and people, who always keep in mind the legacy of the undisputed leader of Revolution, Commander Fidel Castro”.
Mora Valiña also stressed that it was impossible not to feel for the province of Guantánamo, where its people have been faithful followers of the Festival Timbalaye la Ruta de la Rumba.
