Iran Retaliates Israel Killing of Hezbollah and Hamas Leaders

Havana, Oct 1 (ACN) Iran launched over 100 ballistic missiles against Israel in retaliation for the murder of Hezbollah and Hamas leaders, amidst growing tension in the Middle East.

According to Ynet news portal (https://shorturl.at/PBHzA ), Teheran launched 102 missiles targeting the Israeli Hatzeri and Nabatin airports, though areas in Tel Aviv and in the localities of Sharon and Negev also reported explosions.

In a first reaction, an Israeli official told Ynet that Iran will receive a tough response, PL news agency reported on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps issued a communique asserting that the attack came in retaliation for the murder in Teheran of the top leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Ismail Haniyeh and the chief of the Lebanese Hezbollah group, Hassan Nasrallah, in Beirut. The latter attack also claimed the life of Brigadier Abbas Nilforushan, vice-commander of the Al Quds Force, a major unit of the Guard Corps.

The armed corps said that if Israel launches a response, it will face violent attacks.

In April, Iran launched an attack on Israel with over 300 drones and missiles after Tel Aviv bombed Teheran’s consulate in Damascus killing several Iranian generals.

Tasmin News Agency https://t.ly/KqHOx posted a report citing Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian as saying that “a decisive response” has been given to the Zionist regime’s acts of aggression in accordance with Iran’s legitimate rights and with the purpose of ensuring peace and security for Iran and the region.

According to the Agency, the Iranian head of state wrote on X that Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu should bear in mind that Iran is not belligerent, but it would stand firmly against any threat. “This was only a section of our capabilities. Do not start a clash with Iran,” Pezeshkian warned Israel.

The report adds that the Iranian missiles impacted gas platforms near Ashkelon city and destroyed Nevatim air base in the Negev desert. Other media reports say that at least 20 F-35 fighters were destroyed by the attack.lc
