Havana, Sept 19 (ACN) Vietnam’s President To Lam will pay a state visit to Cuba on September 25 and 26, the Cuban Foreign Ministry announced.
To Lam, who’s also General Secretary of Vietnam’s Communist Party will hold official talks with his Cuban counterpart Miguel Diaz-Canel. He will also meet with other Cuban authorities.
Cuba and Vietnam share historic relations based on comprehensive cooperation, mutual trust and strong friendship bonds between the two peoples, communist parties and governments.
On Thursday, September 17, the Vietnamese head of state met in the capital Hanoi with Cuban ambassador Orlando Hernandez. During the talks To Lam reiterated the great importance Vietnam grants to relations with Cuba, its people, the political organization and the state.
Lam added that he expected that his visit to Havana will further strengthen mutual trust and solidarity between the two peoples and encourage bilateral cooperation at higher levels.
The Vietnamese leader thanked his counterpart Miguel Diaz Canel for the expressed willingness of Cuba to send experts and medical personnel to relief the damage inflicted by the Yagi Typhon, which took at least 281 lives and caused huge economic damage.lc
