Havana, Sept 17 (ACN) Over two thousand Haitians were displaced from their home in the capital Port-au-Prince in just two days due to the violent fight among armed gangs, according to the United Nations.
The displacement was registered September 11-13 in the neighborhoods of Cité Soleil and Delma, following violent gang clashes, which worsen the situation of the civilian population in the metropolitan area.
More than 170 thousand Haitians have been displaced only from the city capital, most of them are sheltered in relatives’ places, though three new temporary settlements have appeared in the region, according to UN reports.
