Havana, Sept 12 (ACN) The regional director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Susana Sottoli, stressed Cuba’s support of the specialized agency.
During a working visit to Cuba, the UNFPA executive express her appreciation for the understanding and acceptance by Cuban institutions and organizations, which work with the UN agency shoulder to shoulder every single day, according to the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
Sottoli gave the opening remarks of a high-level panel held Wednesday at Havana’s National Hotel, prior to celebrations for the 50th year of relations between UNFPA and Cuba.
The executive said that Cuban public and innovative policies like the Family Code express the commitment to egalitarian social development and a shared future, by honoring numerous human rights.
It’s been five decades of bilateral collaboration, which have allowed the UNFPA to witness more than once the unbreakable commitment of Cuba to the wellbeing of its people, Susana Sottoli noted.lc
