Head of the Lower House of the Trinidadian Parliament pays tribute to Cuban national hero



HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 3 (ACN) Bridgid Annisette-George, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, paid tribute today to National Hero Jose Marti, as part of the program of activities of her official visit to Cuba.

As reported by the Cuban Parliament on its website, the visitor, along with the delegation accompanying her, laid a wreath at the Memorial that perpetuates the work of the Apostle in Havana's Revolution Square.

It is an honor and an extraordinary privilege to have had this experience, said the head of the Lower House of the Trinidadian Parliament as she signed the visitors' book at the Memorial.

The solemn ceremony was also attended by Ana Maria Mari Machado, vice president of the National Assembly of People's Power; Cindy Shivani Maharaj, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Trinidad and Tobago in our nation; and Jesus Rafael Mora and Indira Pineda Rojas, director and official of International Relations of the Cuban legislature, respectively.

Bridgid Annisette-George arrived in Cuba on September 1 at the head of a parliamentary delegation.

During her stay, she will be received at the National Capitol by her Cuban counterpart Esteban Lazo Hernandez, will hold talks with other authorities and will visit places of economic, historical, scientific and cultural interest, among other activities.
