Cuba denounces US Southern Command's meddling in Venezuela

ACN - Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 30 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, denounced today the attempts of the US Southern Command to meddle in Venezuela's internal affairs.

On X, Cuban diplomat said that recent statements made by the head of the U.S. army, General Laura Richardson, seek to support destabilization and violence in the South American nation.

“She pretends to give lessons on democracy in Latin America and the Caribbean”, stated Rodriguez Parrilla on the statement, at the same time that he described the Southern Command as the spearhead of the Monroe Doctrine.

On Thursday, the Venezuelan foreign minister, Yval Gil, affirmed that Richardson's words are of enormous cynicism.

“The head of the Southern Command chose to go to Chile, where her predecessors met with Pinochet to lead the Condor Plan, which murdered thousands of Latin Americans, to talk about democracy. She does so by attacking Venezuela, where fascism and the heirs of Latin American dictatorships, who nowadays dream of reversing the revolutionary processes in our region, are being fought,” Gil stated on Telegram.
