HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 21 (ACN) Cuban deputy foreign minister Elio Rodríguez Perdomo will pay an official visit to the Commonwealth of Australia on August 22 and 23, where he will meet with high-level officials of the Foreign Ministry and the Australian Parliament and with members of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society.
Rodríguez Perdomo’s visit takes place in the framework of the 35th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Cuba and Australia, which is an excellent opportunity to talk about matters of common interest and ratify Cuba’s will to keep strengthening links with that country.
Cuba and Australia established relations in 1989, when they held similar positions on issues such as climate change, the protection of trade and navigation freedom, and the opposition to the implementation of unilateral coercive measures.
