HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 7 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla denounced today the serious damages to the education system in Gaza as a result of the Israeli genocidal attack, which has killed 9,211 students and 397 faculty members.
A total of 353 public schools and universities have been bombed in violation of International Humanitarian Law, Rodríguez Parrilla stressed.
According to the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), during the past weekend alone, three schools were attacked in the Gaza Strip, adding to 17 others targeted in the last month through actions leading up to the death of 163 Palestinians, including women and children.
OCHA warned that the school facilities attacked over the weekend were housing people who were displaced by either the violence or the constant evacuation orders issued by Israel.
UN reports indicate that nearly 93% of school buildings in Palestine have been directly hit or are likely to suffer damage.
