HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 31 (ACN) In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel condemned the assassination in Tehran of Ismail Haniyeh, leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and described the action as a clear breach of International Law that further endangers the situation in the Middle East, international peace and security.
Díaz-Canel also sent his condolences to the brotherly Palestinian people, as well as to Ismail Haniyeh’s family and friends.
According to Hamas, the assassination of its leader took place through an attack against the building where he was staying in Tehran to attend the inauguration of the new Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, with whom he had met on Tuesday along with Islamic Jihad leader Ziyad al-Najala, who was also in the building at the time of the Israeli attack.
