Cubans Support Palestine at Season against Homophobia

Havana, May 6 (ACN) Cuba’s annual program against Homophobia and Transphobia will constitute an expression of revolutionary activism by the local LGBTQIA+ community and of support for the Palestinian people, said authorities with the Havana-based National Sexual Education Center.

The director of the Center, Mariela Castro, told reporters in Havana that the sessions will praise the slogan “Free Palestine, from the river to the sea.”

Actions will underline the demand of justice and freedom of Palestine, because any sensitive person in the world must demand the end of the criminal aggression against the Palestinian people, Castro said.

The sessions against Homophobia and Transphobia will run May 3-18 and will encourage the effective exercise of sexual and social rights of the LGBTQIA+ community through comprehensive education of the families and permanent communication and alliances with agencies, organizations and civil society.

The program will also praise the achievements reached after the update of the Cuban Constitution and the passing of the 2022 Family Code and the implementation of its provisions like the materialization of 1033 same sex marriages.

These action has been organized by the National Sexual Education Center since 2008 to contribute to an integral sexual education, the recognition and guarantee of the rights of all persons as a practice of equality and social justice.
