
HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 17 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez congratulated his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on his resounding victory in the presidential elections with more than 87% of the votes.
“Cuba offers you its most sincere congratulations on your reelection as Russian president for a fifth term of office,” Díaz-Canel wrote in a message posted on X in which he described Putin’s win as a clear sign of the Russian people's recognition of his administration and reasserted that the Cuban government will continue to strengthen ties with Russia in fields of common benefit.
Following his victory, Putin thanked the Russian electorate for their trust in his performance as head of the government.
