HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 14 (acn) With a first day devoted to the topic of leadership in the team, the campus that the Real Madrid Foundation offers for a week to Cuban children and coaches began today in this city.
The classes are held at Eduardo Saborit stadium, with children aged from 6 to 10 years old and coaches from 10 primary schools in Havana.
Joaquín Saguez, general coordinator of Campus of Experiences within the Spanish club, said that football is also an important tool to transmit values around the world, also serving as a source of healthy habits and training. We come with humility to work with you, to whom we will transmit topics such as leadership, effort, self-control, teamwork and respect for the rival.
Children and coaches will be in direct contact with two specialists from the prestigious Spanish entity: Juan Andrés González and Roberto Arias, who showed them some warm-up exercises, ball passing, as well as asking them to pay the utmost attention in each move.
In the context of the campus, the former player Emilio Butragueño, who in his capacity as head of institutional relations of the Real Madrid Foundation, will be arriving in to Cuba on Tuesday evening, and will meet a day later with the attendees to the project.
Butragueño, who was a striker with an excellent sense of scoring in the Real Madrid squad, was twice named Bronze Ball in 1986 and 1987 and was included in the FIFA 100 list, along with the 123 men considered best footballers in history.
