
HAVANA, Cuba, November 13 (ACN) Specialists from more than twenty countries attend today the 11th International Convention on Physical Activity and Sport AFIDE 2025 in Havana with the goal of contributing to development and quality of life.
The day’s program includes the presentation of major papers on concrete experiences in the use of science and innovation for the benefit of sports, as well as a marathon runners' assembly and a meeting of provincial directors of Cuba’s Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER).
AFIDE 2025 features various events, such as the Symposiums “Therapeutic and Prophylactic Physical Culture,” “Science and Sport,” “Sciences Applied to Baseball, Softball, and Baseball 5,” and “Association Football”; the workshops “Physical Education and Sport for All”, “Leisure and Free Time”, “Administration and Management of Physical Culture and Sport”, “Sport and Society”, “Continuing Education for Physical Culture Professionals”, and “Psychology in Physical Activity and Sport”; the International Conference on High-Performance Sport; the International Congress on Sports Medicine; the Congress on Educational Chess; and the Global Forum on Science and Scientific Research, among others.
Themed “Science to Win”, the event is dedicated to the centenary of the greatest athlete, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, in recognition of the impact made by the Cuban Revolution's historical leader on sports practice, the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and China, and the 60th anniversary of the cooperation that both countries in the field of sports.
