HAVANA, Cuba, November 11 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, President of Cuba, praised the performance of the athletes who represented the country at the recently concluded 6thParapan American Youth Games in Chile.
On X, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba emphasized that the island's delegation, competing in only four sports, won 29 medals, including 12 gold medals.
"Congratulations, young people, for defying life and winning," the head of state concluded.
Cuba, represented in only four sports, won 29 medals, a higher number than at the previous edition in Bogotá in 2023.
Cuban athletes accumulated 12 gold, 13 silver, and four bronze medals, placing Cuba seventh among the countries, behind Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, and Venezuela.
