
HAVANA, Cuba, November 11 (ACN) Zoran Gajic, Minister of Sport of the Republic of Serbia, upon his arrival in Cuba, praised the excellent historical relations between the two countries and expressed his gratitude for the invitation to participate at the 11th International Convention on Physical Education and Sport, AFIDE 2025.
The Serbian minister and his delegation were received at Jose Marti International Airport by Omar Venegas Echemendia, Vice President of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER by its Spanish acronym), who conveyed greetings on behalf of the Cuban sports movement and people.
"Through sport and my participation, we can maintain these relations between our countries for many years to come. I consider this long-standing and reciprocal relationship to be excellent," he emphasized.
"Physical education and sport are of great importance to both Cuba and Serbia," added the distinguished guest.
Afide 2025 is a very serious and necessary event where professionals from around the world exchange experiences and scientific findings for the advancement of sport and physical activity, Gajic affirmed.
For his part, the Vice President of INDER commented on several topics aimed at strengthening collaboration in areas of physical activity of bilateral interest, mentioning certain sports.
As part of his program of activities in Cuba, Zoran Gajic will participate this Tuesday in the opening of Afide at the Convention Palace and in the activities scheduled for the event, as well as hold working meetings with INDER officials.
The Serbian delegation includes Ratko Nikolic, Secretary of State, and Uros Pribicevic, Deputy Minister of Sport.
