
HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 13 (ACN) Cuban rowers who will participate at the qualifying tournament for the 2026 Central American Games in Santo Domingo from October 15th to 19th are already training in Guatemala, led by captain Roberto Carlos Paz Sanchez.
Angel Luis Garcia, national president and commissioner, who will serve as technical delegate for the Guatemalan competition, informed the Cuban News Agency from the venue that, starting on Sunday, the members of the Cuban national team have been preparing on land and are busy assembling their boats.
He added that Monday they should continue their work on the water at the Petén water track to prepare everything for their goal of securing tickets to the 13 events scheduled for the Central American Caribbean multi-sport event.
He confirmed that the men's team is completed by Leudar Suarez, Henry Joan Heredia, Adel Gutierrez, Pedro Gonzalez, Reidy Cardona, and Francisco Romero, and the women's team is made up of Nataly Morales, Ana Laura Jimenez, Leah Almeida, Lisandra Verdecia, Loraidis Echavarria, Anyel Galindo, and Rayma Ortiz.
Garcia reiterated that the delegation is completed by coaches Joan Manuel Paula, Nelson Simon, and Vladimir Reyes, the purpose of which they traveled to Guatemala.
He also announced that teams from Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Guatemala, among others, will be in action in the qualifier.
