SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, August 24 (ACN) The 9th Japanese Conference in the city of Santiago de Cuba came to an end after several days of workshops, lectures, exhibitions, and other activities related to the culture of the Asian nation.
Mr. Tajika Akishi, Cultural and Press Attaché of the Japanese Embassy in Cuba, remarked that his first visit to the said city came as a surprise, given the interest among the local residents, and particularly young people, in the artistic expressions of his country, and pointed out that these events contribute to the dissemination of Japanese traditions and to the strengthening of friendship between both peoples, especially in the field of culture.
This year’s program featured film screenings, public performances, martial arts exhibitions, and dramatized readings, all of which enabled the promotion and enjoyment of Japanese traditions.
The Japanese Conference in Santiago de Cuba is organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association, the Embassy of Japan in Cuba, and the Japanese descendants in this Cuban province.
