HAVANA, Cuba, August 24 (ACN) The Cuban women's team lost 0-3 to Olympic champion Italy in the 2025 World Volleyball Championship, held in Pauket, Thailand.
The Italians, first in Pool B, won in straight sets, outmatching the Cubans in attack (41-29), block (13-3), and serve (6-1) and opponent errors (9-15).
After losing two games, Team Cuba will next be opposite Slovakia.
The Cubans are last in their pool after losing two games―the first was in their debut against Bulgaria―and will now play Slovakia on Tuesday.
