HAVANA, Cuba, August 24 (ACN) Cuban canoeist Yarisleidis Cirilo won the silver medal in the C-1 200m event of the 2025 Canoe Sprint World Championships, held in Milan, Italy.
Cirilo, third in the 2024 Olympic Games and world champion of that event and distance, crossed the finish line with a time of 46.27 seconds, behind the British Liudmila Luzan (46.09s) and ahead of the Russian Ekaterina Shilapnikova (46.59s), who competed under the International Federation banner.
The Cuban proved to be in excellent shape, considering that she was first in her preliminary heat with 46.66s and in the semifinals.
