HAVANA, Cuba, August 8 (ACN) The 1rst Summer Beach and Sea Sports Festival will take place on Havana's beaches until August 13, with sports and educational activities, according to the Granma newspaper.
These competitions include volleyball, hockey, wrestling, badminton, and sand soccer, as well as sailing, freediving, and aquathlon.
The event, sponsored by the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation, will be held at the Gerardo Abreu Fontan Workers' Social Center, the Felix Elmuza and Otto Parellada beach facilities, and Villa Bacuranao and Guanabo beaches.
The program includes ecological workshops, artistic presentations, and spaces for local art, aimed at all ages.
Environmental sanitation initiatives will be carried out in the natural settings during the festival, the closing of which will include a tribute to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on the 99th anniversary of his birth, August 13.
