Cuban wrestler Orislandy Perdomo to attend Junior Pan American Games Asuncion 2025



HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 29 (ACN) Wrestler Orislandy Perdomo Brooks, a native of the 13 de Marzo community in Melena del Sur, in the western province of Mayabeque, is one of the eight athletes who will represent Cuba at the 2nd Junior Pan American Games in Asuncion, Paraguay, next August.

According to the weekly Mayabeque, Perdomo Brooks, 23, has had a solid athletic career that began at age eight on a wrestling mat, then at the School for School Sports Initiation, and later at the Cerro Pelado High Performance Athlete Training School, where he was part of the national pre-selection team.

The article highlights among his main achievements the gold medal at the Cerro Pelado Cup, a bronze at the Pan American qualifier in Mexico, and recently the title and recognition as the most outstanding athlete at the U23 Pan American event, a result that granted him a place in the 2025 Asunción Games.

Perdomo Brooks stated that with rigorous discipline and international preparation, including a training base in China, his commitment is total. "In Asuncion, I'm going for the gold, I have no other goal," affirmed the young wrestler, who dedicates each fight to his family, coaches, and hometown.
