HAVANA, Cuba, July 23 (ACN) The young Santa Clara Leopardos, representing Cuba, beat Nicaragua 8-6 and maintains their unbeaten record in the Latin American Little League Baseball Series for children aged 9-10, under way in Monterrey, Mexico.
With this victory, their third in a row, the Cubans maintained a foothold atop Pool B and took another step forward in their hopes of reaching the next stage of the tournament.
Next on Team Cuba’s schedule for Thursday and Friday are, respectively, the also-undefeated Venezuelans and the Chileans, who have lost all their games so far.
The Leopardos have made a very good impression in Mexico thanks to their resolve, fighting spirit and great command of the game, all of which earned them the pennant of the Cuban national championships.
