HAVANA, Cuba, July 15 (ACN) The Cuban triple jumpers Leyanis Pérez and Liadagmis Povea reasserted their quality at the Grand Prix Brescia 2025 by finishing first and second, respectively, with world-class marks.
Pérez won with 14.92 m, just one centimeter shy of her personal best (14.93 PB), which earned her the gold medal at the 2025 World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China.
On her end, Povea, who was second at the world championships in Nanjing, stretched out to 14.84 m―her best result yet this season―good enough to leave behind the 14.57 m she registered on January 31 in France.
With their one-two, the Cuban athletes confirm their absolute command of this sport as they await the year's main challenge: the World Athletics Championships, to be held in Tokyo, Japan, on September 13 to 21.
