HAVANA, Cuba, July 15 (ACN) FIDE Masters Osiel Alberto Alonso, Adrián Jesús Almaguer and Jinela de la Caridad Rodríguez will be in one of the teams representing Cuba in the World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad, set to take place in Barranquilla, Colombia, on August 16 to 23.
The other team is made up of also-FIDE Masters Lorena Beatriz Montejo and Liennys Ferres and two players yet to boast a FIDE title, namely Esley Bombino and Haden Zuaznabal.
Barranquilla will assemble 350 players from 45 countries in a competition deemed key for young chess talents to gain international experience.
