SANTA CLARA, Cuba, July 13 (ACN) The Santa Clara team, which will represent Cuba in the Latin American Little League Baseball Series for 9-10 year-olds, to be held in Mexico on July 20 to 27, was officially minted for the competition in a ceremony held at the Mausoleum of the Villas Front, next to the Commander Ernesto Che Guevara Sculptural Complex.
Local baseball legends presented the national flag to Dilky Ponce Expósito, first secretary of the Communist Party in the municipality, who passed it on to Santa Clara team captain Ángel Humberto Espinosa.
Vladimir Hernández Meneses, first secretary of the Young Communist League in the province, congratulated the young athletes and urged them to enjoy the competition while proudly defending the colors of their country in Mexico.
