HAVANA, Cuba, July 13 (ACN) The Cuban beach volleyball pair of Noslen Díaz and Jorge Luis Alayo won the gold medal in the tough 2025 Moscow Open tournament of the Russian Circuit.
Invited to participate in six rounds of the Moscow-based Russian league, Díaz and Alayo beat 2-1 the local pair of Sotoyanovsky-Leshuko to finish first, a result confirming their status as one of the best teams of the world.
The Cubans are 22nd in the world ranking after earning 600 points for achieving the ninth place in the Elite 16 of the 2025 Beach Pro Tour competition held in Gstaad, Switzerland, .
Now they will move on to the Elite 16 tournament in Hamburg, Germany, on August 27-31, to be followed by the World Championships in Adelaide, Austria, on November 14-23.
Further ahead another three major events await them, namely the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima, and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
