Cuba vs. France today in a preparation match at VNL



HAVANA, Cuba, July 11 (ACN) Cuban men's team and host France will play a warm-up match today, looking ahead to the third and final week of the group stage of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), which will be held starting July 16 in Gdansk, Poland.

According to French organizers, the coaches of both teams will seek to iron out the difficulties their teams faced in the first and second weeks.

With the stage at the Futuroscope Arena in Chansseneuil-Du-Poitou, Cubans will try to achieve success that will guarantee them a place in the top eight of the VNL and improve on their performance in the previous edition, in which they finished ninth.

Without a doubt, the Caribbean team must significantly improve its performance on the court, as center forward Roberlandy Simon, considered by many experts to be among the best in the world, is expected to join the team for the third week.

They also has their main objective of the year in mind: the World Championships in the Philippines next September.

Cuba is in ninth place in the standings with four wins, while France, the Paris 2024 Olympic champion, is in fifth with five wins.

The Caribbean team will have a tough match, mainly due to the French and Polish teams, who are second in the standings with six wins, while the Bulgarians and Chinese are in 11th and 15th with four and two wins, respectively.
