HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 27 (ACN) Cuban weightlifter Yeniuska Mirabal, in the 81 kilogram (kg) division, will debut today at the Strongest Athletes Cup, held in Moscow and running until June 29.
Mirabal will be the first representative of the Cuban delegation to showcase her potential against rivals from Russia, Belarus, and Venezuela.
The competition, which brings together weightlifting power nations, is a key step in the preparation of Cuban athletes for the Pan American Championships in the discipline, scheduled for July 11-18 in Cali, Colombia.
Joining Mirabal in this international event are Lisney Adame (63 kg), Enmanuel de la Rosa, and Edisnel Corrales, both in the 79 kg division.
Cuba's participation reaffirms the brotherhood bonds and the common interest in sports development.
