Cuban hurdlers Robles and Ruiz with successfully results at Malaga meeting

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 27 (ACN) Cubans Greisys Robles and Lisyanet Ruiz won the gold and silver medals at the 100m hurdles at the 2025 Malaga Athletics Meeting, an event in which other Cuban athletes also shone.

On Thursday, Greisys won, clocking 12.95 seconds in a tightly contested final, followed by Lisyanet by just one hundredth of a second, with 12.96. Robles achieved her tenth under-13-second time of the season.

Ruiz, making her debut on a competitive tour of Europe, had clocked 12.85 in the semifinals, while her teammate qualified without overexerting herself (13.23).The podium was completed by Spanish Claudia Villalante, with a 13.23time.

In the 400-meter dash, Roxana Gomez once again showed strength, crossing the finish line first in 50.93 seconds and achieving her third consecutive under-51-second performance.

Reynaldo Espinosa added another victory for the Caribbean delegation by winning the 100-meter dash in 10.03 seconds, a result that confirms his excellent competitive form,Maykel Masso, meanwhile, celebrated his return to the international circuit with a triumph of 7.89 meters in the long jump.

Cuba's participation will continue Friday in France, where Daily Cooper will compete in the 800 meters and Silinda Morales in the discus throw, as part of the 39th edition of the Montgeron-Essonne Meeting.
