HAVANA, Cuba, June 25 (ACN) Playing in Group 6, the Cuban men's volleyball team defeated Germany 3-1 today in the opener of the second week of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) held in Belgrade.
It was a significant victory for the Cubans, considering their results in the first week and the travel issues on their way to the Serbian city.
Team Cuba outplayed the Germans in attack (51-49), aces (7-2), and opponent errors (25-28), whereas the Germans were better in blocking (10-8).
The Cubans will be opposite the local team on Thursday, followed by the Netherlands on Friday, and Argentina on Sunday.
