HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 23 (ACN) Two-time Cuban Olympic champion Arlen Lopez to box on July 17 at the Las Vegas Theater in Madrid, Spain, against Mexican Paul Valenzuela in a 10-round light heavyweight bout.
The 32-year-old Cuban boxer remains undefeated in four professional boxing outings and will face Valenzuela with a stronger opponent than any he has faced in the past.
His record is 28 wins (five of them by KO), 12 losses, and one draw, according to the online edition of the sports publication JIT.
Lopez, a middleweight, made his professional boxing debut in 2022 after winning Olympic titles in Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2020, as well as a bronze medal in Paris 2024.
Two months ago, on April 11, Arlen defeated Argentine Martin Ezequiel Bulacio by unanimous decision, 3-0, in a 10-round bout held at the Meliá Internacional Hotel in Varadero, to win the World Boxing Association's Latin American continental title.
