HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 10 (ACN) Bermuda beat Cuba 2-1 in the decisive match of Group A of the first CONCACAF qualifier for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Cuba’s Leones del Caribe could not hold on to their dream of being in the World Cup after losing to the Gombey Warriors on Tuesday in the city of Santiago de Cuba.
This victory gave Bermuda seven points, enough to finish second behind Honduras (already qualified with 9 points), which will now play against the already eliminated Antigua and Barbuda (1 point).
The Cubans finished their participation in the qualifier with six points.
