HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 10 (ACN) Cuban cyclists Eryk Gonzalez and Roberto Diaz excelled in the last day of the Punta Cana Grand Prix 2025 in the Dominican Republic by winning the gold and silver medal, respectively, in the masters categories.
González won the Master C race for 50-59 year-olds with 47 points, whereas Díaz finished second in the Master B group for 40-49 year-olds with 35 points.
According to Ramón Arteaga, technical director of the Cuba-Castrol team, the Cuban athletes earned an invitation for the 2026 competition, depending on their possibilities to cover their own travel expenses.
Cuba’s strong movement of masters in cycling and mountain biking contributes to the promotion of these modalities and the development of the new generations of cyclists.
