HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 9 (ACN) The professional boxing match scheduled to be held on April 11 at Varadero Beach in Cuba will feature five fights―four with men and one with women.
Among the main events will be the 12-round fight between two-time Olympic champion Julio César La Cruz and the Montenegrin Dilan Prasovic, as well as Yakelín Estornell’s debut as the first Cuban woman boxer to compete in a professional match, in her case against the Dominican Lina Tejeda in four rounds.
No less important will be the presence of Cuba’s also-two-time Olympic champion Arlen Lopez, the current Olympic gold medalist Erislandy Alvarez, and Lazaro Alvarez, who was third in Paris 2024.
As a precedent of this match is the IBA Champions’ Night organized in Havana in August last year as the first professional boxing tournament held in Cuba in more than 60 years.
