Cuba vs. Bahamas for the crown at U15 Baseball Caribbean Cup

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 9 (ACN) Cuba and Bahamas will compete today at the Andre Rodgers Stadium in Nassau for the crown of the 2nd edition of the U15 Caribbean Baseball Cup.

Both teams have shown superior quality throughout the tournament to the other two participants: U.S. Virgin Islands and St. Maarten, very inferior crews that were knocked out in every game they played with the finalists.

The Dominican Republic would have given more excitement to the event, but due to logistical problems they could not arrive in time to the tournament.

The Bahamian hosts are undefeated at this stage, after defeating St. Maarten twice (16-1 and 33-0), the Virgin Islands once (11-1) and the Cubans (11-8).

For their part, the team coached by Professor Walter Urrutia, although they lost to the locals in a hard-fought duel, looked very good on the field by easily defeating the Virgin Islanders (10-0 and 12-0) and St. Martin (13-1).

The final contest, which has raised great expectations, is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. local time, after the bronze medal match, scheduled for the afternoon.
