HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 25 (ACN) Cuba will have three boxers in the third day of the Budva 2024 World Youth Boxing Championship today, when Yoelvis Leyan Tejera, in the 63.5 kilograms (kg), David Manuel Espinosa (67 kg) and Jorge Luis Mayeta (80 kg) will be in action.
Tejera will face Georgian Levan Demurovic, Espinosa will face Russian Bilal Dakaev and Mayeta will face Bulgarian Boldorev Vladimorovich, in that order, who will try to add victories three, four and five for Cuba, as Javier Alexander Rawlins (86 kg) and Yurisniel Abreu (75 kg) won on Wednesday and Thursday.
The only loss for the Cubans was suffered by Kevin Sanchez (54 kg), who fell after Abreu, a result that prevented Cuba from maintaining its unbeaten record up to that moment.
Cuba attends the world championship with eight fighters and is completed with Angel Manuel Sober (48 kg) and Yojader Fuentes (57 kg), who will debut in the coming days.
The organizers announced three sessions per day until the quarterfinal stage, scheduled from October 29 to 30, the semifinals on October 31 and the finals on November 2 and 3.
